I thought this would be a fun thread. Post your favorite character experiences here! --- I was at Epcot with my friend Megan, hanging out cause work and life in general had kept us from doing so for awhile. So it was Flower and Garden Festival, and a bunch of different characters are out then at Epcot to help celebrate. We found Pocahontas and a few furries, but while we were passing Canada into the Neverland Garden...we realized that Peter and Wendy were there. They were going in, and Smee/Hook were coming out, so we waited until they came back. (There were a bunch of attendant issues here, but they aren't worth sharing! Haha.) So when they did, they didn't even come to the 'line'...they went straight for the playground. So cameras came out and we started video-taping and snapping away. (I have a WDW YouTube Channel, so that was for that. Lol.) So being the adorable children they are, Wendy and Peter played on the playground for awhile before going down the slide, Wendy first, and Peter headfirst after her. When she got to the bottom, Wendy was complaining cause she thought Peter had ripped her dress. They realized that the growing crowd wanted pictures, so they relocated to a photo spot and I was first to meet them. I spent a good amount of time talking to them, and it kinda got revealed that Meg and I worked at Disney, and so they were asking about that. Peter decided to teach me to crow so I could be an honorary Lost Girl. So I did, and there's video of that on my YouTube account. Then Meg had her turn chatting with them, but eventually Wendy realized that people behind us in line were getting annoyed, so we moved away to go sit for a bit. But we got drawn back the next time they were out. Peter and Wendy were starting games. So Peter ran off with Megan for a game of hide and seek tag, while I followed Wendy with the camera. The game is posted on YouTube as well...it was quite fun. The poor attendant was freaking out cause she couldn't keep tabs on her characters. XD But it was SO much fun...and the fact that Peter and Wendy included US, two teenagers, meant alot. That was one of the best character experiences we've EVER had. Before we left, we took a few more (cough, a LOT) pictures of them, and before they headed inside again, Peter told Megan he had a 'message' for her to 'deliver' to Tinkerbell. (There was a Tink topiary in the garden.) And so he gave it to her (after Wendy repeatedly whined, "You aren't...you aren't, are you? Oh, you ARE!") and skipped off. We read the message later, and turns out Peter Pan is very with the times....he has a Facebook! LOL. We've been good friends since.

That's really awesome! I wish I could be an honorary Lost Girl!
I can't really think of my favorite character experience at the moment, but I do remember my first. Back when I was in the second grade and on my first trip to Disney World, Jafar was the first character I remember meeting. It was weird that thoughout the whole trip, I only saw a few odd Disney characters that I really didn't know as well at the time... Like Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear. I was disappointed that I didn't see Mickey. My dad made me feel so guilty that I didn't go with him one night to MGM to ride Tower of Terror because he told me he talked to Mickey on the way. I believed him, of course.

Awww haha! Yeah, oddly enough, sometimes its hard to run into characters. You have to know where they hang out and when, or you could completely miss them. Which is SO unfortunate, cause I feel they should like...the biggest part of going to Disney, you know? I mean...we wouldn't HAVE Disney without them. And yet Disney just doesn't get that...ah well. I have another experience here that I have to share...another of my favorites, and one I'll certainly never ever forget. And its coated with Disney speak, so just keep sharp. Haha. Anyways. I was at Grand Floridian one night watching the Tremaines per usual, and Drizella was walking through the resturant when she heard Lady Tremaine making an announcement in the other room. So she went in to see what the fuss was about, and found that her mother had found a little boy who was willing to sing for everyone. And boy, were we all surprised when he opened his mouth and started singing Flounder's part of "She's In Love" from TLMoB...and very well, too! Lady T finally hushed him up at the K-I-S-S-I-N-G part, and so Anastasia and Drizella countered that they could sing better and got up on the chairs and performed a lovely note-holding rendition of Nightingale. After this, Driz headed over to the boy's table and pulled up a chair so that she was facing him, and asked if he would teach her the song. So he started singing, and man, you should have seen his face when Drizella joined him: "Wella, wella well, don't you wonder who's the lucky seafood dish?" She laughed and explained that the mersisters had taught her the song, for they were gossip buddies and had tea together sometimes. (Drizzle LOVES Disney gossip! She's in EVERYONE's business, lol.) She quizzed him on their names, and he knew them all...and she was impressed. She then asked what his name was, so she could tell the mersisters all about him. He said his name was Trevor. It suddenly clicked in my head. ....folks, Drizella was singing with TREVOR BRAUN. For those of you who don't know, Trevor was a Chip in BATBoB, and a current Flounder in TLMoB. I should have known, how amazing he was. But I just couldn't imagine a BROADWAY STAR at GFla dinner! And yet, there he was. Driz and I were stunned. Drizella had to leave him for awhile to finish her rotation, but soon returned to him, declaring that he should come back in a few years so that they could get married. He agreed, and they decided they would both sing at the wedding to make it special. She left again. And of course, returned again. This time, she had to mention that he had competition for her hand in marriage cause someone else in the room was interested. He said he would speed up the delivery of the ring. Cinderella was breezing through at the moment, so Drizella pulled her over and asked if she had heard him sing. She hadn't, so Trevor agreed to sing again. Driz asked if she could provide backup, and he agreed. So they sang through Flounder's part again, up to "See her blush, see her grin, got to be love she's in!" Which was when Cinderella declared, "Oh, I think I'M blushing!" Drizella SANG with Trevor Braun! Forget it being a magical moment for HIM, it was a magical moment for DRIZ. xD I'll never forget it. I talked to Trevor after the fact, and he sent me a copy of the picture he had taken with the Tremaines (who were kind enough to let him have a picture with them together, which doesn't happen often -- each girl feels like that much beauty in one photo might break the camera!)

That has to be one of the greatest character stories I have ever heard! I am very happy that Driz had such a magical - and probably very surreal - moment.

Just because we don't want to limit this topic to just WDW, and we don't want 3+ threads on the same topic, we're moving this to a more general area in "Disney Around the World", so everyone can share their stories from different parks/ cruise lines/ etc.

I think my favorite was just before the Share a Dream Come True Parade. The Sheriff of Nottingham was out entertaining and making sure folks stayed out of the street before the parade. I decided to be funny. I had a Sacajawea coin in my pocket, so I took it out and flashed it when the Sheriff was looking my way. I didn't really think he would see it, but he did. He came over and demanded that I give it to him. I shook my head, and he turned me around to face my mom, who was ready with the camera. That was a very special moment I will never forget.

Aw, these are great stories! Over the summer I went to Disneyland for the first time and met Jack Sparrow for the first time. I wanted to take a picture with him, on Pirate Island, and the CM told me that he really dosen't pose, you just have to keep the conversation going. I handed my camera to someone next to me to snap the shot. He finally walked by, and as he got closer to me, I attempted to just put my arm around back, so it looked like it was a real photo and not just a random shot of him. As I did so, I guess my hand must have accidently touched his shoulder and he grabbed my hand right at that moment, (much to my suprise and excitement ) and wouldn't let go until he thoroughly looked at it and remarked that I had a type of fungus growing on my fingers. (I had just had my nails painted a reddish color for a wedding I had attended) I showed him my other hand which had a flower design and his eyes really lit up. As he was leaving I told him I loved his ring and he commented, "and I'll be keeping that." I have a few pictures of my shocked expression and his inquisitive face. It was a truly memorable experience for me.

Hah! Isn't Jack Sparrow amazing? It's a shame he's leaving the park. I suspect his time is overdue, though. He probably needs to sail the seas again. Anyways, I have decided to share an experience that has really stayed with me, even though it happened around three years ago. I was walking into Fantasyland one day when I noticed that Mary Poppins and Bert were sitting by the castle all alone, which surprised me because many people were around and yet nobody was bothering them. I decided I would sit down next to them and talk for awhile, and I am really glad I did. I don't know how to say this other than I felt like I was literally transported into the Mary Poppins film. Bert was sketching Mary's side profile and was showing it to me and telling me about it. I remember it being a really, really good sketch too. After a while, Mary and Bert starting having a conversation that I recall being very entertaining to me. They were speaking to each other in that loving yet sarcastic way that, well, Mary and Bert do. Sadly, I cannot really remember the conversation. Gah, I wish I could remember it. But, gosh, if I daresay, everything was so spot on. I know it isn't much, but it was a magical and strange moment that seemed to last forever. I am sure I have many more experiences, but that's always one of the first that comes to mind. I also had great experiences with Ariel when I was little, which I should probably share later.

Yeah, it was great! Wow, that really does sound like a moment form the film! Sometimes you do get lucky and find some of the characters free for a moment.

I always have special moments with Tigger, he's so fantastic. I tell him he's my favourite and he proceeds to 'kiss' me. It's the cutest thing ever! Ahhh Peter Pan, I have yet to meet him, but the people who are hired as Peter Pans are ALWAYS insanely attractive. I'm looking forward to it!

Peter Pan! I love him in the park! Sadly, he's not around very often. I remember one time I was heading to Ariel's Grotto when I saw him running in my direction. I stopped him and jokingly told him he wasn't allowed to run in the park, to which he said, "But. . . but. . . I am Peter Pan! I can do anything." ;D And then he ended up grabbing on to the back of a stroller and and would let it glide downhill with him on the back. He also had quite a gathering of children later on. He sat with them on the pavement in front of the grotto and talked to them very animatedly. I've never seen Peter Pan act so reckless and childish as on that day, which was awesome.

It seems to me that the DLR characters seem more interactive, but they're more limited in number to WDW... which just seems to have lines form and they go down the line. I know that isn't always the case, but it just seems like the more memorable moments with characters happen at DLR....
