I didn't post last year's nominations because my sister needed to do homework. Here were my thoughts:
Nominated for Oscar: "The Sessions," "Chasing Ice," "Mirror Mirror,"
"The Avengers," and "Prometheus"
"Zarafa" gets snubbed by the British
Being glad that "Brave" won Best Animated Feature Film
"Anna Karenina" gets technical noms and wins one of them
"Touch the Sky" gets snubbed by "Everybody Needs A Best Friend"
"Skyfall's" title song wins!
Surprised by sixth tie in Oscar history; was expecting "Argo" to win Best Sound Editing
The first "Hobbit" gets many technical noms
"Hitchcock" gets a technical nod, but not what I was expecting
The dueling Snow Whites get noms
Here are this year's nominees, but first my thoughts on what I caught this morning:
Barkhad Abdi and Jonah Hill get supporting nods
"Before Midnight" gets Adapted Screenplay nom
My reaction to 2 Oscar noms for a sequel to a Golden Globe-nominated movie: "WHAAAAT?" Both "Epic" and "Monsters University" got snubbed by that evil "Despicable Me" sequel.
So glad that "Ernest & Celestine" got in there. I am voting for "Frozen" to win Animated Feature Film.
Voting for Italy's first win in 15 years
Surprised by "20 Feet from Stardom" getting a nom
Confused by "Alone Yet Not Alone" - turns out this is a 1750's period drama that I will watch for the sound. Voting for "Let It Go."
Same number of noms for the second "Hobbit" as the first
Here are the rest of the nominees:

(I'm afraid of saying "Nominated for 1 Oscar" because it makes me sound like one of those children's educational shows.)
1Wow, Hong Kong gets two technical nominations. I am shocked.
2"Prisoners" gets a "Nominated for Oscar" nod, but it's not the leading categories.
3Least it's one more than "Australia."
4Another Michael O'Connor "Nominated For Oscar" nod, like "Jane Eyre."
5The worst-comedies-getting-nominated-for-Makeup thing continues: "Life," "Click," "Norbit," and now a "Jackass" movie is "Nominated for Oscar."
6Two nominations for one of the worst films of the year and a Golden Raspberry nominee. I am ashamed.
7Normal "Nominated for Oscar" thing.
8I was expecting Emma, Tom and "Saving Mr. Banks" to be nominated, but instead, we end up with "Nominated for Oscar:" for Best Original Score.
9I'm voting for "Get a Horse!" to win Best Animated Short Film.
10I was expecting Robert and J.C. to be nominated, but alas, "Nominated for Oscar:" Best Sound Editing.
11I was expecting Mark and "Lone Survivor" to be nominated, but apparently, they go to Wylie and his stock sound effects.
12"Nominated for Oscar," like the second "Iron Man."
13"Nominated for Oscar" is less that the many noms that the first "Star Trek" got.
Your thoughts?
