Disney's next feature film in the spotlight takes us to the land where the buffalo and the prairie dog live. Life on the prairie could be difficult, as this true-life adventure film shows. Competition for food and extreme temperatures made this area a struggle for survival. It truly shows the "wonder world of nature's own realm."
Directed by James Algar, a team of photographers once again sat for days or weeks at a time hoping to catch nature in action. The result was an Academy Award winning film that provided an educational and entertaining look at the wonders of nature. Ub Iwerks helped out with the Special Processes. The 75 minute film was released on August 17, 1954.
