Walt Disney's 21st film is set in England under King Henry VIII. His sister, Mary Tudor, falls in love with Charles Brandon, a commoner. When the king finds out, he banishes the young man and sends Mary to France to wed Louis XII. When Louis dies, Mary convinces Henry to allow her to choose her next husband. The film ends as she and Charles are married.
Cast: Charles Brandon: Richard Todd Mary Tudor: Glynis Johns Henry VIII: James Robertson Justice Duke of Buckingham: Michael Gough Lady Margaret: Jane Barrett Sir Edwin Caskoden: Peter Copley Queen Catherine of Aragon: Rosalie Crutchley Cardinal Wolsey: D. A. Clarke-Smith Lord Chamberlain: Ernest Jay Louis XII: Jean Mercure
This film marks the Disney debut of Glynis Johns, who portrays Mrs. Banks in "Mary Poppins". I have not seen the film, but I would like to. Has anyone seen this? Would you like to?
