"What I enjoy most is broader action. I like the heavies."
Born: March 9, 1911 Hired: 1935 Died: February 13, 1976
When John Lounsbery came to the Disney Studios, he worked mostly on Pluto cartoons. When Disney produced "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", he worked with Norm Ferguson on Queen Grimhilde as the witch. He was always critical of his work, believing he didn't have much talent. He would never criticize another animator. Even in critiquing the work of one that worked under him, he would make suggestions, and then he would say that was just one way of doing it. He never would say that his way was the "right" way. Here is just a sample of some of the characters he has brought to life:
Foulfellow Ben Ali Gator Timothy Mouse Willie the Giant Tony (Lady and the Tramp) King Hubert and King Stefan King Louie and Colonel Hathi Owl and Eeyore
He became a Disney Legend in 1989.
