On Thursday, Disney Legend Fess Parker passed away. He appeared in several live-action Disney films of the 1950s, including "Old Yeller". But, he is best remembered as "King of the Wild Frontier"...Davy Crockett. Even though he was allergic to horses, Parker convinced America that he was Davy Crockett. Folks that grew up in the 1950s were enthralled in the keelboat race, campaigned for Congressman Crockett, and fought with him at the Alamo. Every child in that decade had to have a coonskin cap. Like Davy Crockett, Fess Parker's legend lives on.

I heard that in the news the other day. Very sad. I can't say that I have ever watched Davy Crockett, but I liked his role in Old Yeller. He didn't have a large amount of screen time, but I think he played an important part.
