Disney's adaptation of "The Tales of Uncle Remus" by Joel Chandler Harris is the focus of our next Movie Spotlight.
Plot: When Johnny's father leaves him and his mother to go to work, Johnny is devastated. He decides he will run away and try to find his father. But, Uncle Remus offers some sound advice through the experiences of Br'er Rabbit. Johnny decides to stay with his mother at his grandmother's plantation. He makes a friend in Ginny, a local girl, whose brothers make trouble for Johnny. Uncle Remus once again comes to the rescue with another tale of Br'er Rabbit. When Uncle Remus' stories get Johnny into trouble, his mother decides that Uncle Remus should stay away from Johnny. When Uncle Remus leaves, Johnny tries to follow, but gets attacked by a bull. Uncle Remus goes to visit Johnny, and tells a story, which revives Johnny from his illness. Johnny awakes to find his dad has returned and "everything is mighty satisfactual".
