Okay, if you haven't seen "Bolt" yet, you may not want to read any further, but the climax of this film has been the subject of a lot of discussion in my house, so I figured I'd bring it up here...
Basically, I don't know why they couldn't have come with a better sequence. I mean, everything else in the film works *so well*, so *why* did they have to write a climax that includes so many plot holes? Among them:
*There is *no freaking way* that they would EVER let an actress Penny's age act on a set with flames that could so easily catch on fire. They would have those things on non-flamable material, if they even had them at all.
*Also, in the unlikely event that the set *would* catch on fire, surely a show with a budget like this one would have fire extinguishers on the set, right?
*Further more, would they *really* be allowed to tie Penny up in a way that wouldn't allow her to get down on her own if she had to? It seems that they would've given her some switch that she could pull on in the event of an emergency or something.
*Finally, when the set catches on fire, *why don't they rescue Penny first*? Everyone just comes running out of the building, and then they're all like "Where's Penny? Has anyone seen Penny?". Seriously, they would *make sure* that Penny got out of there as soon as possible. They would *never* leave her hanging there while the building was burning down, and if they really were to actually do something that atrocious, Penny's mother would be able to sue big time.
Does anyone else feel the same way? Or am I in the minority with this opinion?
