Keira Knightley has turned down the chance to reprise her role in a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, insisting she's "done" with the franchise. The actress made her name in Hollywood playing aristocrat-turned-swashbuckler Elizabeth Swann in the hit Disney trilogy. jam.canoe.ca/Movies/2009/03/13/8738061-wenn.html

I was under the impression that she had made this announcement a long time ago. But I guess that this makes it official.

Yeah I thought so too, but I'm guessing they gave her a last-chance offer, maybe?

I think a certain other actor should be given a "last- chance offer".

It's interesting because when the third film came out we had that link to the interview with the writers and they mentioned that neither Liz or Will would be returning to the franchise because the first three films were about Liz's story, and it was complete with the final film.
That and Ms Knightly didn't want to continue.
So why did they offer it to her now? Are they still trying to figure out a storyline?

Maybe they heard me...er, I mean, the fans complaining about her not being in it, and decided to give her a second chance for that reason. It's possible.
