DreamWorks' planned distribution deal with Universal Pictures has collapsed as the parties are unable to agree upon final terms. The failure of the agreement paves the way for Walt Disney Studios, which had earlier sought a distribution deal with DreamWorks, to step in as Steven Spielberg's new studio home, according to people familiar with the situation. latimesblogs.latimes.com/entertainmentnewsbuzz/2009/02/disney-may-upst.html

Interesting...
I doubt that it will actually happen, though. But I've been wrong before.

I actually heard about that on my local news... which is almost as weird about hearing about Space Mountain being down for renovation. Heheh.
Anyway, that is interesting news. I don't quite know how I feel about it though, really.

According to various sources online, the deal was made official today.
However, it does NOT involve DreamWorks' animated films, as many sites have rumored. Disney will only be distributing the studio's live-action movies.

Glad Dreamworks has a distributer, again. But it'll be strange to have Dreamworks Animation still compete with the company that owns live-action Dreamworks.
