Hello All,
It's good to be here. I've finally taken it upon myself to register into this new forum, hopefully it won't be too different from DS, which I miss with a passion!
Anyhow, as my first unofficial act as a member of this forum, I thought I would start a thread that has been on my mind for a long while. Am I the only one who thinks that Winnie the Pooh's Rabbit is the most painstakingly awesome, underrated character in the Hundred Acre Wood?
Sensitive, Intelligent, Thoughtful, overly attentive to his garden, and yet mildly bitter in his own friendly way, beacause he's the brunt of just about all the misery that the Hundered Acre Wood can muster (no matter what Eyore says). What I just love, though, is how calculative and merciless he can be, at times, when provoked. Tigger barrels through his garden bouncing and killing all his vegetables, so what does Rabbit do (besides fall apart and complain to anyone who will listen)? He plots to lose him in the woods and psychologically scar him out of doing what he loves. lol. And, of course that plan backfires hilariously. Apparently, he's worse in the books, or so I've heard.
So, am I in the minority on my convictions or does he have a multitude of fans out there?

Hey Frollo! Welcome! I'm sad to say I'm not a big fan of Rabbit though I think of all of the Hundred Acre Wood characters my personality is most like his - perhaps that's why I'm not overly popular in RL

I was more of a Christopher Robin fan, myself. But Rabbit does give opportunities for some lessons to be learned.

Sorry, I'm not a real Rabbit fan. He just seems to be cranky all the time.

I don't see him as Cranky so much as mature/serious... and is frustrated that his comrades don't seem to have the same maturity level as he does.
I kinda know how that feels.

Rabbit is one of those characters that I liked as a kid, but it was hard for me to relate to him. I think what really sparked my feelings for him was his relationship with Kessie, the bluebird from the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I remember being bought to tears during the episode when he found her. I'm sure that if I saw that episode now it would still have the same impact.
For the longest time, I thought rabbit was a girl. Heh.

I like Rabbit. I can empathize with him. Even though Tiger is my favourite character, for example, I always wish he would have more consideration for Rabbit's feelings whenever he tramples his vegetables. I feel like everyone underestimates Rabbit's feelings and drives him over the edge, so I feel bad for him. This is going to sound silly, but maybe the reason I can relate to him is because sometimes people have ruined things that were once precious to me. It's materialistic, yes, but it gives me a feeling of anxiety and sadness I imagine Rabbit would feel. Anyways, it's been a long time since I have watched anything Winne the Pooh related, so I might not be completely accurate about his character. I am basing this on memory. For the longest time, I thought rabbit was a girl. Heh. Hah, I went through that phase too!
