2002: "Live! With Regis and Kelly" is taped at California Adventure.
2006: Disney has a float in the Rose Parade, which was moved to January 2nd because New Year's Day fell on a Sunday. The Disney float includes all 5 Disney castles from various Disney parks.
2008: Joyce Carlson, who helped create It's a Small World, passes away. Also, Brice Harvey Mack, who worked on the backgrounds of the early Disney films up to the 1950s, passes away.
2009: Disney On Ice: 100 Years of Magic opens in Elmira, NY.
2010: The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra performs arrangements of Disney music at the Powell Symphony Hall.

1785: Jacob Grimm, who wrote down many of the stories on which Disney based his films, is born.
1905: Sterling Holloway, who voiced the Cheshire Cat, Kaa, and Winnie the Pooh, among other characters, is born.
1918: Buddy Baker, who composed much of the music heard in Disney films, is born.
1936: "Mickey's Polo Team" is released.
1937: The first cels of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" are taken to the Ink and Paint Department.
1943: Mary Lynn Satori, member of "The Mickey Mouse Club", is born.
1956: "Disneyland" shows part 1 of "When Knighthood was in Flower".
1958: Matt Frewer, the voice of Panic in "Hercules" and the neighbor in "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids", is born.
1962: April Winchell, the voice of Peg Pete (Goof Troop), Miss Finster (Recess), and Clarabelle Cow (House of Mouse), is born. Her father is Paul Winchell, who voiced Tigger in the "Winnie the Pooh" films.
1963: Dave Foley, the voice of Flik in "A Bug's Life", is born.
1989: If You Could Fly closes at Walt Disney World to make room for Delta Dreamflight.
1996: In a speech to shareholders, Michael Eisner discusses plans for Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney World's 25th anniversary, the town of Celebration, and the Disney Cruise Lines.
1998: During the Investiture Ceremony for the Papal Order of St. Gregory the Great, Roy O. Disney and Bob Hope are honored because of their contributions to their faith and to various charities.
2002: This year's Disney Marathon Health and Fitness Expo kicks off at Wide World of Sports.
2003: Disney World's Polynesian Revue gives its last performance. It will be replaces by The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show.
2004: In Toronto, "The Lion King" gives its final performance. Also, Lisa Brescia steps into the role of Amneris in Disney's "Aida" on Broadway.
2005: At the Orange Bowl Championship Football Game in Miami, Florida, Mickey Mouse surprises 72,000 football fans with a free ticket to any Disney theme park around the world as part of Disneyland's 50th birthday bash. At Walt Disney World, Wonders of Life becomes a seasonal attraction, and closes during less crowded times.
2010: Honey, I Shrunk the Audience closes at Disneyland to make way for the return of Captain EO.
