I don't know. I think for the most part, a good story has to have someone you just absolutely hate. The stronger the villain, the stronger the hero, the better the story. I've read stories that just disappointed me because the villain was so weak. I guess some folks enjoy that. I'm just not one of them.

I love this movie, and I'm glad to see there are others here who love it too. Sometimes I feel like I'm alone in my love for it (though a friend and I do like to make fun of the name "Lampwick" ). I do love that it's so dark, because it's supposed to be a morality play and how can you really get the point of what not to do across by showing the consequences? I'm also a believer in not watering everything down so kids are never exposed to ANYTHING, heh. From a technical standpoint, I think the animation in this movie is amazing. It honestly feels like you're watching a moving painting. I read somewhere that even by today's standards, this movie is considered to be some of the highest quality animation out there. I don't have a hard time believing that. So yay for Pinocchio!

While it is not one of my favorite films, I do appreciate all the work that was put in it and effect it has on me after watching it. I haven't watched it in a long time, but was reminded of it last summer when I went to Disneyland and went on the "Pinoccio's Daring Adventure" and felt like I was actually put in the movie facing all the temptations, that Pinnocio had to. It was amazing. Jimminy Cricket has to be one of my favorite characters and the main song is really the epitome of all things Disney, and of Walt's life. Excellent movie.

I was always scared of this movie as a kid, which is probably why I don't really have a strong connection with it - I just didn't watch it that much! But I do like the cat and the goldfish, and Jimminy Cricket. and yes, "When you wish upon a star" is a great song - I'm sure it gives goosebumps to all disney fans! I was really into fairies when I was little and I was really disappointed by the Blue Fairy's dress... thought it was a bit dull for a fairy! haha. I did like the sparkles though.

In case y'all didn't know, ABC Family aired this film on Saturday. It kind of shocks me. ABC Family will air a classic Disney film, but the Disney Channel won't.

I always liked her dress. I thought of it as being simple and elegant. In case y'all didn't know, ABC Family aired this film on Saturday. It kind of shocks me.
