What exactly is a fanboy again?

A fanboy is an individual who is overly dedicated to and obsessed with a (usually) fictional subject. Think comic book geeks and crazy Star Wars fans.
There's nothing wrong with liking something and being passionate about it, but fanboys can take it to an extreme level. It's that kind of extreme that brings down a brand as a whole. For example, when people think of comic books, they may automatically think of the stereotypical comic book fanboy (like that one character from the Simpsons) and may be turned off of comics by that.

OHHH, ok so I guess I'd say I am a fan boy of something like ALvin and the Chipmunks.
do you know why there are 2 gender categories? For example aren't there fanboys and fangirls? Is there really that much of a differance between the two?

Oh, don't get me wrong, there are fangirls out there too. It's something that doesn't seem to be brought up as much as the topic of fanboys. I didn't mean to put in a gender bias. That wasn't my intention at all and I hope it didn't come off that way.
Actually, Buddy from the Incredibles probably counts as a fanboy type.

It didn't come across that way at all. I was just curious because I have heard of both Fanboys and Fangirls. Yeah, I'd say Buddy might be one of the best examples of a Fanboy.

There was this really funny character in the show Freakazoid that parodied fanboys in a really funny outrageous way. I forgot what episode it was, but it featured the title character being stalked by a fanboy (whose name was Fanboy, if I remember correctly) at a comic book convention.
Anyway, back on topic, I think Rhino comes off as too much of a hero worshiping fanboy. It's hard to judge though, just from the commercials.
Now that I think about it, the plot of Bolt seems to be a variation of the plot from 101 Dalmatians II. Except the title character of Bolt thinks he's a her while in 101 Dalmatians II, Lightning knows he isn't.

You lost me! Explain again how this reminds you of 101 Dalmatians II?

I guess it's more of a vague thing than anything, but both movies deal with a dog TV star who are trying to reach their goal by using or just meeting up with a fan who knows everything about their respective TV shows.

Yeah! That remind me of that Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers episode where Dale meets his hero a Dog TV star known as Flash The Wonder Dog. And Flash doesn't turn out the way Dale saw him on TV in real life.

Yeah, I suppose it is a pretty universal concept. It's effective though.

I didn't really like Rhino when I first saw him in the trailer, but he's grown on me a lot since then. I guess that I just find hamsters who eat danger for breakfast amusing. And yes, Rhino is obviously modeled after a fanboy. I was acting a lot like him when I saw the new James Bond movie yesterday.

I saw the trailer and thought it was the most adorable thing ever, mostly because of the hamster.
We saw it before HSM3. It was the most hilarious thing ever, the hamster was like "I bet you wanna watch High School Musical.." and then he starts singing "We're all in this together!" it was so freaking hilarious.
