This is the place where I will update each day to provide an interesting look back into Disney history. And what a month to start! So, here's the information for November 7th to start us off:
1903: Ary Barroso, songwriter from Brazil, is born. His songs, "Aquarela do Brasil" and "Bahia", were used in "Saludos Amigos" and "The Three Caballeros" respectively.
1947: Walter Fenner, who doubled for Walt Disney in Cary Grant's film "Once Upon a Time" passes away.
1953: "The Saturday Evening Post" features the second part of "The Amazing Story of Walt Disney"
1955: It is Fun With Music Day on "The Mickey Mouse Club". The second episode of Spin and Marty airs on the show.
1956: "Cameras in Samoa/The Holland Story" airs on Disneyland.
1957: "Zorro's Romance" airs on television.
1958: "His Majesty, King of Beasts" airs on Walt Disney Presents.
1962: "The Legend of Lobo" is released.
1966: Walt Disney is admitted to St. Joseph's Hospital, where doctors give him 6 months to 2 years to live. He will pass away in a little over a month.
1972: Christopher Daniel Barnes, voice of Prince Eric is born.
1976: Animator and Disney Legend Roy Williams passes away. Most noted for his role on "The Mickey Mouse Club", Williams came up with the idea for the Mouseketeers to wear the famous Mousekaears.
1999: "Annie" airs on "The Wonderful World of Disney".
2003: John Canemaker appears as a guest lecturer at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He discusses Mary Blair and her contributions to Disney's "Alice in Wonderland".
2004: News of Disney's consideration of Seoul, South Korea as Disney's next theme park destination is reported in "The Korea Times"
2006: "Cars" is released on DVD. Also, Disney announces creation of Fall Line, a new video game studio.
2007: "Enchanted" premieres in London.
2008: "High School Musical 3: Senior Year (Singalong version)" premieres in 125 theaters across the United States. Also, with the recent news of DisneySites! closing, Magical World of Disney opens.

1925: Joe Flynn, voice of Mr. Snoops in "The Rescuers", is born. He also appeared in the Dexter Riley films.
1949: Bonnie Raitt is born. Her version of "Baby Mine" appeared on the CD "Stay Awake".
1955: Today is Guest Star Day on the Mickey Mouse Club, featuring the 3rd part of Spin and Marty.
1966: Doctors remove Walt Disney's left lung.
1973: "Robin Hood" is released in theaters.
1980: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad opens at Walt Disney World.
1987: Bob Allen passes away. He was the Vice President of Disney World.
1994: Walt Disney Records releases "Christmas in the Americas" and "Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops Orchestra: Salute to Disney" is released.
1998: "A Knight in Camelot" airs on "The Wonderful World of Disney".
1999: "Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving" is released on video.
2002: Festival of the Masters begins at Downtown Disney in WDW and Tokyo Disneyland welcomes the 300 millionth visitor.
2003: Super Soap Weekend begins at MGM Studios and The Haunted Mansion 3D Tour opens in Detroit, Michigan.
2004: It is announced that "The Incredibles" surpassed "Finding Nemo" in the box office.
2005: "Ducktales" and "Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers" first season box sets are released. President Bush announces the winners of the National Medal of Arts. Ollie Johnston is among those honored. Siemans AG and the Disney Company enter into a 12 year agreement in which Siemans will sponsor several EPCOT attractions, including Spaceship Earth and Illuminations.

1886: Ed Wynn, the voice of the Mad Hatter and Uncle Albert in "Mary Poppins", is born.
1955: Karen Dotrice, who played Jane Banks in "Mary Poppins", is born.
1999: "Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas" is released on video.
2004: Disney's "On the Record" begins its US National Tour. "Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas" is released on DVD.
November 10:
1891: Carl Stalling, composer for "Plane Crazy" and "The Gallopin' Gaucho", is born.
1917: Marie Worthey, who worked in the ink and paint department, is born. She will marry animator Ollie Johnston.
1923: Neil Beckett, Disney merchandising representative in New Zealand, is born. His contributions will earn him a Disney Legend award.
1933: "My Lips Betray" is released. This Fox film features a scene from Disney's "Ye Olden Days". The film stars Herman Bing, who voiced the Ringmaster in "Dumbo".
1944: Disney lyricist Tim Rice is born. Rice has worked with Alan Menken in "Aladdin" and "Beauty and the Beast". He also worked with Elton John for "The Lion King". He has also written lyrics for several Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals, including "Phantom of the Opera".
1948: Vincent Schiavelli, who appeared in the 1995 remake of "Escape to Witch Mountain" is born.
1953: Disney's Academy-Award winning True-Life Adventure film "The Living Desert" is released.
1954: "Disneyland" airs episode 3 with a look behind the scenes of Disney's True-Life Adventure Films with the producer-director James Algar.
1955: Today is "Circus Day" on "The Mickey Mouse Club".
1959: "Third Man on the Mountain" is released.
1964: Jimmie Dodd, composer of "The Mickey Mouse Club March" and head Mouseketeer, passes away.
1986: Josh Peck, who plays Robe on "Max Keeble's Big Move", is born.
1992: Disney Records releases the "Aladdin" soundtrack.
1994: Disney Records releases "The Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack.
1996: Leonard Malten hosts the Annie Awards.
2000: "Phantom of the Megaplex" debuts on the Disney Channel.
2001: "The Emperer's New Groove" is among the winners of the Annie Awards.
2003: "Great Hotels--Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, Disneyland Resort" debuts on the Travel Channel.
2004: The first issue of "The Incredibles" comic book is released.
2005: President Bush presents the National Medal of Arts awards. Ollie Johnston is in attendance to accept his award.
2006: Walt Disney is honored as the first individual on Anaheim's Walk of Fame.

1929: "Hell's Bells", the fourth Silly Symphony, is released.
1937: Disney completes the work on "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs".
1946: A premiere parade is held for Disney's "Song of the South" in Atlanta, Georgia. Walt Disney and the mayor of Atlanta appear together.
1953: "Ben and Me" is released along with the 3D Donald Duck/Chip and Dale cartoon "Working for Peanuts". "Peter Pan" is released in Mexico.
1955: It is Talent Round Up Day on "The Mickey Mouse Club".
1956: Walt Disney is the mystery guest on "What's My Line?"
1962: Demi Moore, the voice of Esmeralda on "The Hunchback of Notre Dame", is born.
1971: "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" is released. Jerry Deluise, who plays Jerry Russo in Disney's "Wizards of Waverly Place", is born. His father, Dom Deluise, voiced Fagin in "Oliver and Company".
1991: A new convention center opens next to Disney's Contemporary Resort.
1992: "Aladdin" has its world premiere.
1993: Disney announces their idea to build "Disney's America", a new America themed park. The theme park will never become a reality.
1994: "The Santa Clause" is released.
1995: "Pocahontas" wins several Annie Awards.
1997: Walt Disney Home Video releases "Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas". Walt Disney Records releases "Flubber".
1999: "Beauty and the Beast" moves to the Lunt-Fontanne Theater.
2000: "An Extremely Goofy Movie", "Toy Story 2", "Mickey's Mouseworks", and "Fantasia/2000" all win Annie Awards.
2001: "Aida" touring production debuts in Los Angeles. Disneyland honors the Veterans of the United States Military Forces in a special Veteran's Day Flag Retreat.
2003: California firefighters and rescue workers that assisted in the California Wildfires are given a three-day complimentary pass into Disneyland and California Adventure. Offer is extended until March 31, 2004. President Bush signs a bill into law that would rename several buildings. Among those is the post office in Marceline, Missouri, which is now known as the Walt Disney Post Office Building.
2005: Disneyland's 50th Birthday Christmas Tree is revealed. Ornaments celebrate Disneyland's 50 years.
2006: Super Soap Weekend begins at MGM Studios. Festival of the Masters begins at the Disney Marketplace.
2007: The stagehand strike prevents "The Lion King" from celebrating its 10th year on Broadway.

1939: Bela Lugosi, best known for his portrayal of "Dracula", poses for the character of Chernabog. Disney animators will reject Lugosi as a model and go with director Wilfred Jackson.
1946: Disney's "Song of the South" premieres.
1957: Disney stock first appears on the New York Stock Exchange.
1982: Anne Hathaway, star of Disney's "Princess Diaries", is born.
1993: Disney's Live-Action film "The Three Musketeers" is released. The story is based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas.
November 13th:
1850: Robert Louis Stevenson is born. Stevenson wrote "Treasure Island", which became Disney's first live action film and Disney's 2002 animated film "Treasure Planet". He also wrote "Kidnapped", which Disney adapted into a film in 1960. He is probably best known for his famous work "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde".
1906: Hermione Baddeley is born. She was the voice of Madame Bonfamille in "The Aristocats" and Ellen in "Mary Poppins".
1935: Gary Marshall is born. He directed "The Princess Diaries" films. TV fans know him as the man responsible for "Happy Days" and "Laverne and Shirley", among other films.
1940: "Fantasia" premieres as Disney's 3rd Feature Film.
1955: Whoopi Goldberg, who voiced Shenzi in "The Lion King", is born.
1980: Monique Coleman, who played Taylor McKessie in Disney's "High School Musical" films, is born.
1991: Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" premieres in the United States.
1999: Disney's "Toy Story 2" premieres.
2000: Disney's "102 Dalmatians" premieres.

1921: Brian Keith, who plays Sharon and Susan's father in "The Parent Trap", is born.
1940: The New York Times includes rave reviews for Disney's "Fantasia".
1961: Walt Disney's grandson, Walter Elias Disney Miller, is born. D. B. Sweeney, the voice of Sitka in "Brother Bear", is born.
1964: Patrick Warburton, the voice of Kronk in "The Emperer's New Groove", is born.
1998: "A Bug's Life" premieres at the El Capitan Theater.
2000: Disney releases the soundtrack for "The Emperer's New Groove".
2002: Kermit the Frog receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
And now, here's what happened on November 15th:
1916: Animator Bill Melendez is born. He worked on "Pinocchio", "Fantasia", "Dumbo", and "Bambi". But, he is best known for his contributions in the "Peanuts" animated films. He even gave his voice to Snoopy.
1925: "Alice Rattled by Rats" is released.
1929: "Jungle Rhythm", the last Mickey cartoon of 1929, is released. This is the first Mickey cartoon to feature music in the opening credits.
1932: The Disney Art Class at the Chouinard School of Art has its first lecture by Don Graham. The school opened in preparation for the first full length animated feature.
1934: Alice Liddell, who inspired Lewis Carroll to write "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass", passes away.
1955: It's Guest Star Day on "The Mickey Mouse Club".
1965: Walt and Roy Disney formally announce their plans for Disney World to the press. Speculation has been building over the "mystery company" that has been buying up the Florida swampland.
1975: The final Mickey Mouse comic strip is published.
1986: 40 years and 2 days after the premiere of "Song of the South", the film has a second premiere in Atlanta. The Governor of Georgia declares this day "Song of the South Day".
1987: Jim Henson is inducted into the Television Hall of Fame. "The Wonderful World of Disney" airs "Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too".
1988: Zena Grey, who played Carly Daniels in "The Shaggy Dog", is born.
1989: "The Little Mermaid" is released in Los Angeles and New York City.
1993: The Garden Grill restaurant opens in The Land Pavillion at EPCOT.
1995: The first national tour for "Beauty and the Beast" opens.
2002: The Wilderness Lodge Villas open as part of the Disney Vacation Club.
2003: "The Challenge", starring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, airs on "The Wonderful World of Disney".
2006: "Pirates of the Caribbean: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies" is published.

1922: Royal Dano, the voice of Abraham Lincoln in Disney's Hall of Presidents and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, is born.
1934: A story development meeting outlines the scene where Snow White meets the dwarfs. Dopey is introduced into the story during this meeting.
1965: Walt Disney visits the future site of Walt Disney World.
1990: Disney's first full length animated sequel, "The Rescuers Down Under" premieres along with Mickey Mouse in "The Prince and the Pauper".
2004: Stitch's Great Escape debuts in Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, while Turtle Talk With Crush debuts at EPCOT.
2006: Mary Poppins opens at the New Amsterdam Theater in New York City. Eustace Lycett passes away. He contributed to the special effects that made many of Disney's magical moments possible. 1932: On Mickey's fourth birthday, Walt Disney receives a special Academy Award for the creation of his most famous character.

1960: Elizabeth Perkins, the voice of Coral in "Finding Nemo", is born. Fans of "The Flinstones", the film based on the cartoon series, will remember her as Wilma Flinstone.

1958: Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Dr. Tess Coleman in Disney's "Freaky Friday", is born.
1963: US President John F. Kennedy is assassinated. Walt Disney tours Florida from the air to spot a site for his Florida project. He rejects a site along the coast and chooses the swampland near Orlando instead. On the return trip to California, he learns of the President's death. Also, British novelist C. S. Lewis, most noted for his "Chronicles of Narnia", passes away.
1974: The Lake Buena Vista Golf Club opens at Disney World.
1985: "One Magic Christmas" is released.
1989: The Swan Hotel opens at Disney World.
1991: "Beauty and the Beast" is released.
1992: Sterling Holloway, the voices of The Cheshire Cat, Kaa, Winnie the Pooh, and many other characters, passes away.
